From month 16 the server has paid for itself. After that it is yours — and the saving keeps running.
How we calculate: the purchase price plus 60 monthly support fees against your present cost times 60. Support is optional — if you maintain the server yourself, only the purchase price applies. All prices excl. VAT. We add roughly 50 % headroom to the data you hold today, so the size still fits in a few years. After five years the machine is still yours; in this calculation it is carried at zero.
Your data stays in the building
Your server sits with you. No third-party data centre, no question of jurisdiction, no dependence on a provider whose terms can change at any time.
The price is settled
The machine is yours once purchased — with no contractual tie. Operation, maintenance and support can be added as a fixed monthly fee, but you don't have to. No billing by volume, no surprise next quarter. The calculator above shows the figures with support; maintain it yourself and only electricity remains.
Nothing to migrate back
Renting means hauling everything out again when you leave — usually slow and expensive. What you own does not need moving. You are already where you want to be.
The five uncomfortable questions
Anyone making a decision of this size thinks first about what could go wrong. Rightly so. Here are the answers before you have to ask.
“What if we no longer want to work with you?”
Then we stop — and you keep everything. The server is yours, the data sits on it, there is nothing to retrieve and nothing to release. No export, no notice period on your own records. That is precisely the difference from renting: a supplier you can leave at any time has no leverage over you.
“Who can reach our data?”
You do. The server stands in your building, the drives are your property. We come in only when you let us in for maintenance — and every access is written to a log you can read. There is no route by which your files end up with us.
“And if the machine fails?”
A backup runs every night, locally on your own hardware. Maintenance, updates and support are part of the support contract if you add it — then we do not wait for you to call. Without it the server runs just the same, you simply look after it yourself. From size M an uninterruptible power supply is included, so a power cut cannot land in the middle of a write.
“Who saw what, and when?”
You can look it up. Two-factor login, roles per employee, login and activity logs. Sharing runs between named people, not through open links into the void. Anyone without permission does not see the area — not even that it exists.
“How do we know the software is unaltered?”
The program code is sealed. At every start the system checks itself against that seal; if anyone alters a file, it says so visibly in the cockpit. You do not have to take our word that nothing was tampered with — you can see it.
